Inauguration ceremony of Higher Diploma in Library and Information Sciences was held 18th November 2023 at Mini Auditorium, Centre for External Degrees and Extension Courses, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.

The ceremony was graced Dr. T. Prabaharan, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Eastern University, Sri Lanka as Chief Guest. Dr. V. Gunapalasingam, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture attended the ceremony as special guest, and Dr. W. J. Jeyaraj Librarian, Eastern University as special guest. Mr. S. Santharooban Programme Coordinator delivered the welcome address at the gathering and made the arrangements for the event

In addition to that Mr. A. Kanneraj, Chairman, Board of Study, Dr. (Mrs.) J .Suresh, Coordinator/ Registration and Examination, Academic staff of Faculty of Arts and Culture and Library were participated.

Thirty six students were selected for this program and the ceremony was ended with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Anojah V, Assistant Registrar, Centre for External Degrees and Extension Courses.
