International Tournament Sri Lanka National Universities Basketball (Men and Women)

The 2nd Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship – 2016 was held in Macua,China from 19th to 24th July 2016. Mr. M. Paranithasan, Coordinator, Physical Education, Eastern University Sri Lanka was appointed as the Head of Dedication /Coach for both Men and Women teams which represented Sri Lanka on the above tournament. Two of the Eastern University students were selected for the Men is team.

 

They were Mr.S.Uganthan (EU/IS/2011/COM/85) and Mr. V C Vijay (EU/IS/2012/MS/61). The Men team consisted with 08 players and Women team also consisted with 08 players.

Thirteen countries and regions namely Sri Lanka, Brunei, China, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines,Thailand, Chinese Taipei And Macau China took part in the 2nd Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship – 2016.

Our Men team was grouped with Iran,China,Philippines,Indonesia and Brunei. We were able to win two matches against Philippines and Brunei but we lost to China, Iran and Indonesia.
