BIOGRAPHY

Dr. W. J . Jeyaraj, the University Librarian of the Eastern University, Sri Lanka, the Immediate Past President of the University Librarians Association of Sri Lanka (ULA), and the Lecturer in Library & Information Science, has over 26 years of experience in the university library sector.

He holds the following Academic & Professional credentials ;

BIOGRAPHY

Mr. M N Ravikumar is working as Senior Assistant Librarian Grade I at Main Library EUSL and in Charge for E- Resources, Library Automation and Digitization. He has more than 19 yers experince in academic librarianship and presently serving as Vice President of Sri Lanka Library Association. He has graduated in Chemistry with Upper Second-class at Eastern University, Sri Lanka and obtained Masters degree in Library and Information Science at University of Colombo. He has received the Fellowship Award of the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) and has been recognized as a chartered librarian by the SLLA.

He also severed as visiting academia for Masters degree, Post graduate diploma and Higher diploma in Library and Information Science at National Institute of Library and Information Sciences, University of Colombo. Also visiting lecturer for the Bachelor of Library and Information Science at Open university Sri Lanka, Higher diploma in Library and Information Science at University of Peradeniya and Diploma / Higher diploma in Library and Information Science course at SLLA.

He has served as an editor, editorial board member and reviewer for national and international conference proceedings and indexed journals and he has published many research papers in peer reviewed journals, and presented papers in international and national conferences. Moreover, he worked as a consultant for national and local library automation and digitization projects and implemented library automation system and digital library system in many public and university libraries. He served as resource person for may workshops in Library and Information Science and has received research award for his work in the same field.

He specialized in Library automation, digitization, open-source software applications in libraries and Library and Information Science education. He has been trained on Digital Library Architecture in Open University of Malaysia and on Open Sources Software for Library Management in Indian Institute of Technology, India.

BIOGRAPHY

Mrs. Gayathiri Navirathan started her carrier as an Assistant Librarian in 2009 and she has been promoted as Senior Assistant Librarian Grade II in 2014 and now, promoted as Senior Assistant Librarian Grade I since 2020.

She is in-charge of the Conservation and Preservation Unit and Periodicals Section of Main Library, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. She is an Associate Member of Sri Lanka Library Association and a Charted Librarian. And also, vvisiting lecturer at the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) since 2015 up to date. She is expertized in Librarianship, Conservation and Preservation of Library collections and Cultural heritage.

She is served as resource person for several workshops and seminars on reference management, literature search, Grammarly online writing assistant, reading habits and conservation and binding. She has presented several research papers in national and international journals and conferences. She planned and developed a Museum in the Main Library, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.
