  • Chandrakumar.S. facilitated and participated Cultural Band and traditional Theatre Performance to perform the Kalai Amuthan Cultural event of Jaffna University Student Union on 17.09.2018 at 9.30 am in Play Ground of the Jaffna University, Sri Lanka.

  • Chandrakumar,S. scripted and directed “Nanju Manither” (Man of Poison) street play for Department of Fine Arts special Student and final staged at nearby the Kaluthavalai Maha Viddiyalayam for campaign programme of kaluthawalai on 28/06/2018 at 10.30 am. This Programme was organized and coordinated by Deputy Director of Agriculture-Extension, Department of Agriculture, Batticaloa for the purpose of environmental Friendliness and awareness. The initial event to campaign programme has been performed by organizer. Drama performers were participated in this campaign. Street Play was performed in the end of the campaign. School Students, Public, Farmers, Government Officers were participated as the audience.

  • Chandrakumar,S. Acted as “police - inspector” in Makidi koothu performance (one of the traditional theatre performance art forms in Batticaloa region). at the premises of kokkaddicholai Thanthodrishwarar Temple on 07/05/2018. Administrators of Thanthonrishwarar, Cultural Officers, Villagers and Students graced this performance.

Community Outreach Work

  1. Makidi Koothu Performance
    Chandrakumar.S. facilitated and programme modified Makidi kooththu. This programme was organized for community by the students as well as Lectures of Department of Fine Arts, EUSL, in the premises of kokkaddicholai Thanthodrishwarar Temple on 07/05/2018. Micro credit character was incorporated by Mr.S.Chandrakumar. under discussion with Annaviyar and Performers in this particular performance, because this is a burning issue in the current situation. Administrators of Thanthonrishwarar, Cultural Officers, Villagers and Students graced this performance.

  2. Performance of the Temple
    Chandrakumar.S. facilitated and coordinated Makidi Kooththu to perform at Munaikkadu Nagashakthi Temple at 10.00 pm on 19/06/2018. Mr.S.Chandrakumar had acted as “police - inspector” in this performance. The villagers and academics were participated and enjoyed this performance. Students of the Department of Fine Arts were acted in this Makidi Kooththu. Construction of Makidi Koothu stage was made by Mr.S.Chandrakumar and his Students. Mr.Rajathurai was an Annaviyar in this koothu.

  3. Campaign Performance for Environmental Friendly Work- Street Play
    Chandrakumar.S. scripted and directed Nanju Manither (Man of Poison) street play.This drama was performed by the Students of Department of Fine Arts at nearby the Kaluthavalai Maha Viddiyalayam for campaign programme of kaluthawalai on 28/06/2018 at 10.30 am.   4. The Concept of Rehearsal and Discussion to Empower Practical Aspect among the Students

    Events of Drama The Concept of Rehearsal and Discussion was arranged by Mr.S.Chandrakumar director of drama to develop the theme of street Drama and Drama elements of aesthetic in in - front the Senate Building of EUSL on 06/06/2018 at 9.00-12.30.

    Participants were expressing their knowledge and experience in this rehearsal of drama Such as method of organic cultivation, effect of chemical use, protecting land as well as human from the dangerous chemical and how to reduce poison. First year students more than seven hundred from Arts Faculty as well as the students of the other faculties, Lecturers, Non-Academics and Mr.M.Parameswaran Deputy Director of Agriculture (ext) Batticaloa and his team have participated in this discussion. This Method of Rehearsal and Discussion was introduced and facilitated by Mr.S.Chandrakumar.

  5. Multi –Cultural Music Festival
    The Event, “Multi –Cultural Music Festival – 2017” under Aesthetic & Creative Development Programme for the Students was organized and coordinated by Mr.S.Chandrakumar, Head, Department of Fine Arts, EUSL on 11.12.2017 at the premises of the Eastern University. The Students from all Faculties and Common Student Union were participated as the participants in various aspect of this programme. Dr.K.E. Karunakaran, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr.V.Kanagasingam, Rector, Trincomalee Campus, Dr.S.Jeyasankar, Director, Swami Vipulananda Institute of Aesthetics Studies, Mr.M.Ravi, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Culture, Mrs.V. Ragel, Dean of Faculty of Commerce and Management, Heads and Coordinators, Senior Academics, academics, Students and Non -Academic staff of Faculty of Arts & Culture and others were present in this occasion.

  6. Modern Drama performance for School students
    “Arodu Nohan” (School Drama) drama was directed by Mr. S.Chandrakumar, Head/Fine Arts and was staged on 26.09.2017 in the BT/Kl/ kannakuda kanaki Maha Viddiyalayam, Kannakuda. This programme was scheduled to empower learning and teaching for Teachers and Students of Education Zone of Batticaloa West. Department of Fine Arts and Batticaloa West Zone were Organized this programme.

  7. Workshop
    Chandrakumar.S. attended as a supervisor for A/L Practical Examination Panel in Kilinochci, Mullaithivu, Vavuniya and Mannar was conducted by the Department of Examinations, Sri Lanka on 18.09.2018 – 28.09.2018.
    Chandrakumar.S. conducted drama & Theatre workshop for O/L Students to pass the final exam at Punakala Tamil Maha viddiyalayam Bandraravala and Ampilanthurai BT/Kaliamahal Viddiyalayam on 2018.

  8. Oonjal Vizha Kondattam (Swing Festival Celebration)

    Chandrakumar S had organized the Oonjal Vizha Kondattam, one of the elements of Tamil culture on 18.01.2018 at 9.00 a.m. in the in-front of senate building of the EUSL. This event is a research activity of Ms.T. Pratheepa, final year student of Department of Fine Arts which was guided and supervised by me. It was an activity that empowering learning – teaching aspect and creating independent thinking of the students.

  9. Exhibition for Social Entrepreneurship
    Chandrakumar.S had organized the exhibition in the title of “Trees and Handicrafts of Eastern University Campus” in the in front of Faculty of Arts & culture building on 19.07.2018 at 9.00. a.m. for purposes of teaching – learning empowerment of lecturers as well as students, expression of students creativeness, making the students as entrepreneurs and not just as employees.

  10. Children Performance
    Chandrakumar.S. facilitated in “Vana Rani Vadamoodi Kooththu” for the purpose of community welfare by using children and adults from Kaluvancikudy 2018.

    Chandrakumar.S. directed to perform “Nansu manithar” Street play in the World Food day was organized by Faculty of Agriculture, EUSL on 16.10.2018 in EUSL

  14. Traditional Theatre Festival in Sri Lanka
    a. Chandrakumar.S had conducted and directed the 8th Traditional Theatre Festival and Exhibition at Mamangam Temple from 5th to 7th August 2018. This is a community based and Student Centered Leaning programme of the Department of Fine Arts.
