Structure of the Diploma Programme

The Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Management is a one-year programme conducted through a blended mode of delivery. The curriculum is carefully designed to meet the needs of diverse learners in modern contexts and to address current challenges in the rapidly evolving tourism and hospitality industry at both national and global levels.

This Diploma aims to widen access to higher education by offering an affordable and flexible pathway for students who wish to pursue academic and professional development in tourism and hospitality management. Each course within the Diploma is designed and delivered based on clearly defined Intended Learning Outcomes (ILOs) and follows a Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach. The teaching and learning strategies encourage active participation, critical thinking, practical skill development, and industry exposure.

Assessment is conducted continuously throughout the semester and includes practical assessments, presentations, assignments, and end-of-semester examinations. This comprehensive evaluation system ensures that students acquire both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies required for careers in tourism and hospitality management.

Entry Qualifications
  • Successful completion of General Certificate of Education (Advanced level) or
  • A foundation course equivalent to SLQF level 2 after a minimum of 12 years of schooling followed by passing an aptitude test, or
  • Completion of NVQF level 4 or accredited work experience or accredited prior learning followed by a corresponding cognitive bridging programme of minimum 30 credits (equivalent to SLQF level 3).
